Meet Your Tutor

I'm a New York State educator entering my fifth year of teaching, with experience working with middle and high school students across a wide range of academic abilities and learning needs.

I hold bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, as well as a master's degree in Secondary Education with a focus in History and Special Education. My background in both content-area instruction and special education allows me to adapt lessons and strategies to meet the individual needs of each student.

My approach to tutoring goes beyond memorizing names, dates, and events. I help students understand the bigger picture of history while developing the skills they need to succeed—reading and analyzing historical documents, organizing their ideas, strengthening their writing, preparing for exams, and becoming more confident, independent learners.

Whether a student needs ongoing academic support, Regents preparation, help strengthening historical thinking skills, or simply needs a difficult topic explained in a different way, each tutoring session is designed around the individual student.

A Passion for History

My interest in history extends far beyond the classroom. As a living historian and historical reenactor, I enjoy bringing the past to life through hands-on experiences, while also visiting historic sites, museums, and battlefields. These experiences allow me to engage with history firsthand and bring that enthusiasm back into my teaching. I believe history becomes most meaningful when students can connect the people, places, and stories of the past to the world they are learning about.
